    I have a question. If my manager has purposefully asked me to resign by setting unrealistic expectations in the form of PIP and if my client is another country is not aware of all these....How will I inform my client about it?

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining 5 дней назад

      If you have already resigned (forced to or otherwise), then informing your client that you are leaving would be a professional necessity. I would suggest that you don;t drag a client into problems with your manager as this would be unprofessional and likely to cause you further problems. A question for you - can you demonstrate why the expectations are unrealistic? i.e. comparing to the expectations placed on peers, peer performance etc. This would allow you to push back against the PIP and increase the legal risk to the company if they are acting unfairly.

    There are so many things wrong with the corporate world that simply infuriates me; why if someone is working hard and is competent should be deprived of a promotion because it was not in their nature to be overly social and making connections. Or that the next person who is more charming should get promoted ahead of them. Plus, if they don't see your value, move on. There shouldn't be games to play to get ahead. These are all so stressful; what if I genuinely don't like my higher up manager because I don't believe in their morals and ethics based on things I've seen from them.

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining 5 дней назад

      @samirafriis - In an ideal world managers would spend a lot more time undering standing exactly how good their staff are. Working hard and doing a good job is not enough. The ability to communicate well and in many different situation is also a very improtant set of skills, particularly as you get more senior. I learnt this the hard way. It is a game that is part of getting promoted unfortunately. J

    Packaging your message in a more persuasive and palatable form. I really like this statement. I have a strong conviction about being truthful. And my boss has been asking me to be more diplomatic in some of my communication to our clients to not create unnecessary alarm in them. I was wrestling with some of the suggested replies he had given me because if I were to say it that way, it feels like I am being dishonest. But, this perspective, that diplomacy is not about being dishonest but packaging in a way that is winning, is a very helpful paradigm shift. Thank you!

    In Austria bulliying either between coworkers or between coworker and superior is a completely normal and accepted behavior. Managers see no reason to do anything about it and when I discussed it specifically with superiors, they said it was nothing more than social romanticism. I can only say from experience - Austrians are underdeveloped neanderthals in this area.

I am going to take every bit of training from that organization for 2 years then get the hell out and make myself valuable somewhere else but not without giving them a show!!! I am struggling with this, so thank you for your training. I sent a short summary and link to myself so I can revisit this video. My company is going through an integration following a merger and the direction is more muddy than it has been with other mergers...we may not even get MBOs this year. Who is running the ship as people keep changing positions, etc.? Doing my best, but most who I talk to feel the same way. During "normal" times the part I struggle with the most is getting straight to the point as I am a data focused chemist. (I often invest more time in editing my emails before sending than in composing them, for example.) One thing I often do, especially in situations more formal than email, is to use a few bullet points (3-5) then add hyperlinks in case I am asked for more information.

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining Месяц назад

      Getting straight to the point or being concise is definitely a skill that comes with practice. Keep working at editing your emails and putting the key points first. You can always add more detail or as you say use hyperlinks. The point of condensing is to highlight the key points clearly - so these are not drowned out by the detail around them. Keep working at it and you will get better and better! J

    How to say “ I don’t want to take meetings on your behalf. As CTO this is our expectation that you will be managing your team directly “

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining Месяц назад

      @careergeek17 - I am assuming that you are talking to your boss. I would go with something like: "I feel uncomfortable taking the meeting instead of you. I believe the other attendees are expecting and wanting you to attend. Don't you think this meeting is a good opportunity for you to ... (insert benefits or what you expect them to be doing an example might be "set direction for the next steps on xxx project"). J

    Is it bullying if let's say you have a misunderstanding or communication breakdown with a team member and your temper gets the best of you?

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining Месяц назад

      I think this depends on how often this happens. If it is a one-off or a rare occurance, then in my opinion no it is not bullying (we are all human and make mistakes etc). If tlosing your temper happens regularly then it could be argued you are trying to intimidate and therefore could be bullying. J

      @Enhancetraining or it can be argued someone has maladaptive coping behavior and doesn't handle stress or conflict well.

    Is lying considered insubordination?

    • @Enhancetraining
      @Enhancetraining Месяц назад

      @RachelsBadAssJamz64 - I would avoid lying at work. I would expect that it is a disciplinary offense in most employment contracts in some form. Trust should be a big deal in any team. J

    Is it the Managers Job to handle bad attitudes or is the lead able to as well?

    • @Enhancetraining

      Ideally it would be everyone else in team stopping bad attitudes. The whole team is affected after all. It is certainly the manager's job to take the lead on people issues. J

    I have a coworker who will give sarcastic comments when I tried explaining an issue in my team about a financial systematic issue that need more time to solve but this person will just come to insist that our team has to get the result on time because we have passed deadline. She doesn't even bother asking how we we got trouble although we are trying our best to solve by seeking help to HQ IT team and have to wait more time. She mocked me and my team saying "if HQ doesn't get back you, go find solution yourself!" (in a rude way). She is a finance clerk who is in charge for closure issues. I want to expose her attitude to her manager but this person will take things personally and affect our working relation. Please advise.

      @zevita6400 - there is not an easy answer to your question. What is going to be worse - putting up with sarcastic comments or putting up with a damaged relationship with your coworker - only you can answer this. Have you tried speaking directly to your co-worker and explaining why you take offense to the sarcasum etc and what you would you would like from her? J

      @@Enhancetraining thanks. Indeed, it's not easy to putting up. Each of us has mission to accomplish but because face issues and our mission is hindered, what we need is actually how we can understand each other's situation by communicating with respect.
